But given that Race Render explicitly states they can use GPX data, you should be okay.
#Data logger racerender android#
PS I use a CSV file exported from RaceChrono Pro, an Android app fed by a home brew GPS receiver a guy I know built. I cooked up some simple data traces to show me where I am and am not smooth. I've not done the latter but it looks like Race Render can do it. GPS can only give you position and velocity, plus anything you can calculate from that (acceleration, lean, etc.) For stuff like brake pressure, throttle position, gear etc. It's pretty old school and has a learning curve to it, but you can do cool stuff with it once you work it out. I'm not even that old, but the obsession with apps, especially for data heavy uses drives me nuts. Obviously, I'd prefer device-agnostic analysis software, but it seems everything is proprietary and tied to one device or another (Race Studio for AIM, circuit tools for vbox, etc), which sort of makes sense for the uber-feature rich data logging and company's obsession with creating walled gardens with products that do a few, but not all things, right, but I'm just talking plain GPS.įor that, it seems everything is an "app" or some sort of cloud based product. Obviously, if it supports video, that's a bonus.

I'm not simply looking for overlay generation for videos a'la racerender. So, in terms of functionality, what offers just not online (I find their interface clunky and buggy, and a bit limited and I don't need/want it to be cloud based.) I know Racechrono can import data from gopro, but I don't want a phone app, I want to use my computer. I'm looking for some sort of PC (Windows) software that will be able to load and plot gps data (.gpx extracted from gopro) and calculate lap times, plot speeds, and do comparisons.
